We are a small but growing team of volunteers, made up of football fans and sport lovers, who are committed to building the #NoFoulPlay campaign to foster an ethos in football where women are welcomed, nurtured, and treated on par with their male counterparts.

Every day, world over, there are innumerable incidents of harassment, abuse, sexism, and discrimination in women’s football.

Every day, women footballers battle archaic notions of what female athletes can and cannot do.

Every day that they take to the field, female players are subjected to verbal violence - lewd and sexualised comments, sexist remarks, and slurs.

Every day, women footballers are at the receiving end of objectification, body shaming, homophobia, hate speech, even death threats on social media and in person - in locker rooms and pitches - by coaches, managers, officials, and fans, which usually goes unreported and unpunished.

Even when the harassment and discrimination is not overt, it takes other sinister forms – fewer sponsorships, sub-par coaching facilities, poor travel and accommodation arrangements, lesser prize money, and institutional neglect of the sport.

Women in football deserve better. They have the same right to play, coach, officiate, commentate or revel in watching football as male players and fans.

With the #NoFoulPlay campaign, we want to bring about a sea change in women’s football, and by extension, women’s sport in India.

And we need your help to get there. Whether you are a player, a coach, a manager, an official, a parent or guardian, a sponsor, or a football fan, we need you to take a clear and uncompromising stand to help create a welcoming environment for women in the sport.

OUR GOALS:

  • Create awareness through a series of #NoFoulPlay campaigns - online and offline
  • Actively campaign against discrimination and abuse in football - on and off the pitch
